Step 1:

To create your garden in Mediterranean areas, a great way to distribute plants is to lay lawns and leave a centered hole to put a group of agaves. They are beautiful plants with thorny and fleshy leaves that are arranged in a rosette. For them to hold well, the soil must be well-drained and have plenty of suns. You can put yuccas on the walls of the house, or even in very central areas. They are pointed plants of high decorative value. When they bloom, beautiful ivory-white flowers come out, giving the garden a very elegant air.

Step 2:

Tree species such as cypress, palm and pine are also suitable plants for a Mediterranean climate. Among the palms, the phoenix with long green leaves is very interesting and beautiful and its fruits are orange dates. Another alternative for your Mediterranean garden are cacti since they need long periods of sun and grow in very arid soils. There is a wide selection of cacti with many decorative possibilities in your garden. The lemon trees are also a perfect species for this type of weather. They are small, with beautiful foliage, with wonderful smelling flowers and with lemons as showy and striking fruit.

Step 3:

Another typical Mediterranean tree is the olive tree, a very decorative species with very special fruit. It has lush foliage and a winding trunk. It does not require much watering and adapts very well to heat. In addition to trees, you can also decorate your garden with flowers of intense color and aroma. A good choice is some leafy bushes called tube cleaners (Callistemon citrinus) that also have flowers with long mauve stamens, which look like a feather duster.

Step 4:

Another perfect recommendation for a Mediterranean climate is bougainvillea: a climbing plant in warm and temperate climates with long branches that are covered in red, purple and pink flowers in autumn. Another great option for your garden to be spectacular is cyca, a plant that grows slowly and whose result is beautifully decorative. It has large divided leaves that sprout from the center of it.
