Sprucing Up Your Living Room By Making Small Changes

Every once in a while, when the mood hits, you may want to fix up your living room. Maybe it looks a little bit drab, or maybe you’ve just been sitting in the same place for too long. If you get the urge to change your living room but don’t want to make any major changes, consider adding a small, dramatic element or making one big change. This can alter the look of your living room for just a little effort and small cost. Here are some tips to give your living room a makeover without making a major change.

Paint one wall

If you don’t want to repaint your entire living room, consider painting just one wall. A single accent wall in a bright color is a very modern look that can totally update the appearance of your living room. Choose a color that you enjoy and that also looks good with the rest of the room. This way, you won’t have to change anything else in the room.

Add a Piece of Art

A large sculpture or dramatic painting can completely change a room with a single stroke. A beautiful or striking work of art can be the centerpiece of an otherwise plain room. Choose a piece of art that speaks to you personally and makes you feel good since you will be looking at it all the time.

Fix Up Your Fireplace

If you’re lucky enough to have a fireplace, consider adding a dramatic and colorful fireplace fender, like those made by Adams Fireplace Shop. This can lend an artistic and luxurious touch to your living room, especially in the winter when you use the fireplace at social events.

Add A Dramatic Houseplant

A large houseplant can add a sense of exotic adventure to your living room. Depending on the amount of natural and artificial light in your room, you could even include a small tree. There is nothing as appealing as natural flowers blooming in your living room. Even dark rooms can usually host a succulent or a fern that requires little attention.

Change the Lighting

Often, you can change the whole atmosphere of a living room just by changing the lighting. Add floor or table lamps to highlight certain areas, or add track lighting for an increase over all. Your living room will soon look amazing.
