If you are considering a move to the South-east Virginia coastal region, Suffolk should be on your list of cities to consider. There are many reasons to consider moving to this historical city, including these five.

1. Family Friendly

The affordable housing and Suffolk land for sale, quality education, and job growth make Suffolk an attractive city for young families. Suffolk has consistently been ranked as one of the top cities in the United States for growing families.

2. Military Friendly

The multiple nearby military installations make Suffolk a popular destination for active and retired members of the military. The easy commute to nearby bases and a variety of services aimed at military members make Suffolk a great place for active servicemen, support staff and their families to live. The large veteran community provides ample support for military retirees.

3. The Beach

With the Virginia coast just a 45-minute trip away, Suffolk has a lot to offer for beach enthusiasts. Virginia’s many public beaches offer visitors access to swimming, paddle boarding, surfing, sailing and more.

4. Southern Cooking

5. The Great Dismal Swamp

This national wildlife refuge is home to one of the largest populations of black bears on the East coast, as well as butterflies, subtropical birds, bobcats and white-tailed deer. In addition to the wildlife, visitors can enjoy boating, paddling, hiking, biking and other outdoor activities.

Suffolk, VA has a lot to offer for families, military members, outdoor enthusiasts and beachcombers looking for a place to live on the East coast. Consider these five reasons to live in Suffolk when planning your East coast move.
