Basic tools which will be needed:

  • Microfiber Drying Towel
  • Microfiber Wash Mitts (two)
  • Gloves
  • Wash bucket (with Grit Guard)
  • Car Shampoo (Don’t use dishwashing liquid)

Pro tip: Wash your car towards the end of the day, ideally in a garage or a shaded area. Don’t wash the car in mid-day when the sun is at its brightest because all soap that you’re going to put on your car is going to dry up. You’ll have water spots and streaks on the finish.

Prep

The first thing you will need is to add some soap to your bucket. Follow the instruction on the soap’s label. Usually, it suggests adding one ounce of soap into 4 to 5 gallons of water. After filling the bucket with nice soapy water, then dunk a wash mitt into the bucket for the paint. Let it soak there for a while. and let’s rinse the paint all over the car.

Wash the car

Start washing your car with the “straight-line technique” at the top of the car. Don’t put any pressure and don’t use a circular motion because that will put swirl marks into your paint. The swirl marks are those of spider web swirlies that you will see into your car finish especially, on darker cars.

Wash on the straight lines and be gentle. Let the weight of the mitt work for you. Wash the car from top to bottom. Start with the roof then the mid-section of the car and keep the lower part and the rocker panels for the end. Because the majority of the dust, grime, and all the road debris go from the wheels and they splash onto your car’s body. So, the lower half is usually the dirtiest part of the vehicle.

Rinse the soap

After cleaning the paint, rinse all the soap off all over the car.

Wash the Wheels

Now, for washing the wheels use the second microfiber wash mitt which was left in the bucket for soaking. Wash all over the wheels using it.  After finishing washing rinse off all the wheels.

Pro tip: Use some sort of tire gel. This going to give your tires an ultimate black shine as well as protect them from the harmless of the sun’s UV rays. So, put them on a foam applicator pad and wipe it on the tires also add some to the sidewall of the tires and give the tires a nice and shiny look.

Drying stage

So, let the car drying stage now. You’ll need a microfiber drying towel. You can also use a squeegee for the window if you have it, if not you can dry the windows with a microfiber drying towel as well. So, dry the all over the car using microfiber.

Once you’ve washed your car properly, it’s time to enjoy it. A careful driver always cleans his car. Now, go wash your car and make it happy.
