Once everything has been cleared out, the next thing that needs to be done would be to sweep the floor. You can use a broom or just grab a discarded piece of cardboard that is clean and shake it so it will pick up any loose dirt lying on the floor.

After sweeping, mop your garage floor with water and soap effectively. Make sure that you remove all the dirt by washing them out with soap, especially if you want to remove those oily substances. Make sure that after washing, there is no residue of dirt on the floor as this will make it slippery for your car or any other vehicle to drive on.

Once it is completely clean and dry, the next thing that needs to be done would be to apply a transparent coating on the floor using a paint roller and a paint brush. Make sure that you mix it thoroughly and apply even coats on your garage floor. This will make easier for those who want to wipe their feet as they enter the garage from getting dirty right away.

If you have children, just mixing the paints will not be enough as you need to thin it using water. Also, make sure that you clean the brushes thoroughly before storage so you will not forget about them in your garage floor’s paint thinned by spilled gasoline.
