Common Problems with an AC System in Florida

Hny5rft November 06, 2018 Reviews Leave a Comment

It’s hot in Florida, almost all year long. As such, you want to take care of an AC repair in Fort Myers, FL as soon as possible. Once you get a technician out, you can learn what kind of problem is going on. There are various problems that could be plaguing your system.

Refrigerant Leak

One of the most common problems is a refrigerant leak. This typically happens when there is a hole in the coil. As the refrigerant leaks out of the system, it is harder to get the temperature down to where you want it to be. If you feel as though your system is always running and your thermostat never shows the desired temperature, it may be that you either have a leak in your refrigerant or it needs to be charged.

Clogged Filters

It is important to change the air filters in your AC system on a regular basis. The frequency will depend on how many people you have in your home as well as whether you have pets or not. If your filters are too dirty, it will be harder for the air to travel through them. This means that your system will be working on overdrive, leading to various problems. It can also cause your electric bill to skyrocket.

Electrical Problems

You may also encounter various electrical problems. Your thermostat may not be communicating with your AC system properly, preventing you from getting the correct settings. There may also be issues where power isn’t going to your HVAC system at all. A technician will be able to run tests to find out what is going on.

Whatever AC problem you are having, there is likely a solution. The sooner you get a technician out to inspect your AC, the sooner you can get everything back to working order.
