hanger for the keys

A proper decoration of the home receiver is to maintain order in this place. The entrance is that place that becomes the letter of presentation of our home; is the first thing visitors see when they arrive and it is the first impression they take. The organization is fundamental and there are many ways to achieve it and achieve, at the same time, a beautiful decoration of this space.

Today I want to show you annualized very cool I’ve seen on the blog A Beautiful Mess with which you will learn to make a Key Organizer. It is functional and very aesthetic, totally adaptable to your most personal taste, so let’s get down to work to do so and you will get your receiver ordered, your keys always at hand and give a touch of personality to this area.

The materials you will need

– A piece of wood. You can buy it or you can reuse some that you have at home and do not know why to use it.
– Five washers with key rings.
– A round wooden batten.
– 2 lock hardware
– A saw.
– Drill and drill size of wood transom.
– Sandpaper.
– Painting for wood.

The steps to make our key organizer for the entrance

The first thing you will do is cut the wood to the length you want. Here they wanted to hang five key rings and fit it into the space they had available. Measure the gap you have in your lobby and think how many keys you want to keep in this DIY hanger.

Then make a groove with the saw in the part that will remain, say, up your organizer. This is so that you put some decorative extra like a sheet or some photograph, for example.

The holes for the key rings

Measure the distance to which you want to place your key chains and drill the holes. Drill deep enough so that the wood can be well inserted and not fall with the weight of the keys. You also have to make small holes in the end of the ribbon to place the rings of the key rings. You can sand the surfaces you notice that are not especially clean or smooth, to give the perfect finish.

Hang and paint

To hang it from the wall, use the hardware that we mentioned before (in the photographs you will also see the process). But first let’s paint it. You can color the shelf and the ends of the round woods, for example. The result: a key organizer for your totally personalized and very decorative hall. We love!

Bonus track: Another DIY to make a key hanger

There are many ways to make your own key organizer for your home entrance. The pallets can give you a lot of play, although now I want to finish this post today telling you an idea that I have loved and that is very easy to do. Although you know that my passion is Playmobil the truth is that LEGO also excites me. That’s why I can not resist teaching you this key hanger made with LEGO pieces. I’ve seen it on the Technabob blog, where they tell us that thanks to the idea that the designer Felix Grauer had to make a simple keychain with a LEGO piece came the possibility of making this way to save them later.

It consists of making a LEGO panel to hang on the wall so that the parts of the key ring (and keys) can be hooked into this hanger. You can play with colors, even forming a word in your organizer. It’s as simple as cash and, for that, I simply love it.
