An elegant and modern table

The truth is that this type of tables have that elegant and modern Scandinavian character . You can find it already made in the market or more fun: make it yourself! It will always have a more special touch, do not you think?

The materials you will need are …

– Walnut plywood board.
– Adhesive tape with wooden edge.
– Transparent polypropylene cord.
– Tube cutter.
– Copper tube rods.
– Copper tube straps.
– Sander.
– Wax.
– Wax brush.
– Lint-free cloths

The steps to follow

First, measure and cut the pipe. This will depend on how you want to make your table. I tell you the measures used in this blog and then you decide. Here they have used 30 pieces of about 25 centimeters in length.

Then, cut the rope about 3 meters in length. To assemble the pieces of this structure you can follow this tutorial. Make sure you tighten tight and tie the knots at the end of each triangle so the rope does not come loose.

Next, create the table table. As we have seen before, walnut plywood has been used, although you can choose the material that you like the most.

To make the circle you can measure the diameter of the widest points of the base with a piece of string. Then, fold the rope in half and mark the center, and place on the wood. Hold the rope in the center and attach a pencil. As a compass, draw the circle. It will look great for you!

Beware of the edges

With the saw it will touch to cut the circle. The edges are going to be exposed and unfinished, but for that we will need the adhesive tape. This will make them smooth and with a better finish.

The singing is usually wider than you need, so you may have to cut to remove what is left over. Once done, lightly sand the edges so that there is a smooth finish.

Protective wax

Next, apply a layer of wax to the top of the wood. You can do it also in the interior, there’s no problem for that. Depending on the wax you use, it may touch polish. Follow the instructions of the product in particular.

Fix the base

When the table is dry, put it on the floor and fix the base with the hooks. Use short screws will not go through the wood without realizing it. When you have the structure the board together you can enjoy a very decorative side table.
