side table

Do you like having furniture in homes made with your own hands? Then you’ve come to the right place. Today I want to tell you two different ways of designing a practical and decorative side table for you to place in any corner of your house. In the living room, in the bedroom or even in the hall. Wherever you want! They are two very simple and at the same time very effective ideas. We get to it.

Side table with Nordic style

The first DIY I teach you is the blog and consists of making a side table with a marked Nordic style, mixing wood and copper. It is made with recycled elements. The materials you will need are:

– A metal basket in copper color.

– A pallet.

– White glue.

– A plate.

– Screws.

– Wooden spikes and markers.

– Putty for wood.

– Wax for wood.

– Brush.

How to make this side table, step by step

The steps to make this table are simple, we get to work. The first thing that you have to do is to disassemble the palé and to stay with the tables that are well, cutting them to the measurement of the diameter that you want for your table. Tie them through the spikes, making four holes in each board with a separation of 10 centimeters and a depth equal to half the length of the spike. Put a stop on the drill bit to adjust it properly.

The other holes

Make all the holes in the rest of tables and put white tail in the ones of one side, to introduce the ears. Join the boards by helping yourself with a hammer and remove the excess tail, doing this on all boards and forming a board. Camouflage the imperfections with the putty and sand the surface. Next, draw a circle and cut it with the jigsaw, and sand it so the edges do not get chipped or jagged.

Join table and basket

To join the table and the metal basket, look for the center and screw the metal plates to the table. Finish your DIY with wax so that the surface of the board is as beautiful as possible and let it dry. Your table will be ready to be able to store books or magazines, leave the coffee while you read or put a nice pot.

If you find it a bit complicated to do the circumference of the table with the pallets, you can make this table with a round table, directly.

Other side table

Now we go with another craft to make a decorative side table, in this case is the blog Sugar and Cloth .

You will need to:

– Some paws.

– Embellishments for legs.

– A round cake mold, of the diameter that you would like for your table.

– Round wooden table.

– Pletinas.

– Paint chalk paint. Here they have used in spray, much more comfortable.

In this case, the legs are left in natural color and the lower part has been painted in gold color. You can leave them as you like. Then, screw the plates to join the pastry mold with the legs. Paint the mold of the color that you prefer and when it is dry, it is only left to place the legs and the wood above the mold.

As you can see, it is a very simple way to make an auxiliary table that also serves as a storage system, since inside the mold you can store things that will be hidden when you place the wooden board on top.

You can use the same paint for the mold and for the legs, for example, using the same color to make a completely personalized side table that perfectly matches the shades of your house.
