How to clean window screens

Clean window screens are not so difficult, so don’t worry about it. It is easier than your think. If you don’t clean your window screen regularly then it will be damaged, dirty, and maybe need to be changed. Cleaning window screens are less expensive than the replacement of window screens. To find out your leisure time and clean those screens.

Before you get started to clean your window screens you some tools and elements

  • A soft bristle brush
  • Warm water
  • A mild dish soaps

Step 1: Remove window screens from the window frame. Be careful that it would not damage or the window.

Step 2: Now take some mild dish soap in a bowl and pour the bowl with warm water. Do not take much water. Otherwise, the density of mild dish soap will be reduced and the activity of soap will be reduced.

Step 3: Take the soft bristle brush and sunk it in the soap and water solution

Step 4: Spray some soapy water on the window screen

Step 5: Now brush it with a soft bristle but try to do it gently so that window screens not to be damaged.

Step 6: After brush, it completely then wash it with lukewarm water.

Step 7: Keep it in sunlight or in a place to dry up it.

Step 8: After completely dry up it then places their window frame.

How to Clean Window Screens Without Removing

Sometimes it is required that the window screen cannot be removed especially when window screens are nailed to the frames. This can be seen more for the old-fashioned wooden window because the constructions can be old-fashioned. For this type of window, the screen uses a professional cleaning solution or water with soap. It can not be possible to clean from the inside or outside that’s why you need to clean it on both sides. This type of window screen needs to clean every corner for this you can use droplets of ammonia.

Step 1: First try your best to remove dust from the screens. This will help you to further cleaning much easier.

Step 2: You can use a vacuum hose attachment but not use a plastic end.

Step 3: Protect your walls and floors, for this, you can cover the wall and floor which are near to the window

Step 4: Prepare two big bowls for cleaning. One for process and one for rinse.

Step 5: Use Clean water and a clean rag to wipe down screens

Step 6: After completing all steps above then keep windows screens to air dry

Step 7: Final step is inspecting the window screens properly.

How to clean window screens with vinegar

If your window screens are heavily dirt then you can use vinegar to remove the dirt easily. For this, you can follow rules below

Step 1: First remove all screens what do you want to clean and lay them outside of the home. If there are a large number of window screens then you can label them. It is an easy way to place them right frame after cleaning.

Step 2:  Take ½ cup of household vinegar and 1 gallon of water. If you have to clean more screens then take more vinegar and water but the vinegar and water portion will remain the same. Now mixed up properly.

Step 3:  Take a big bucket and pour it with the solution

Step 4:  Now lift all screens into the bucket if possible. If it is not possible then spray the solution on screens

Step 5:  Take a brush and gently rub the screen properly. You can use a sponge or dishcloth instead of a brush.

Step 6: After finishing the brush, again use lukewarm water to clean.

Step 7: Now lay the window screens in sunlight for few hours until fully dry.

Step 8: Place them by label what sticks before cleaning.
