Make Your Home Summer Ready

House maintenance is important not only to preserve the value of your house but also to increase the value of your home, every year when the season changes, take some time to look inside and outside the house and see if anything needs repair, exchange or if anything new is needed.

Home maintenance is not only needed to preserve the value but it also saves you money. Yes, regular repair does cost you money, then how does it save you money? Regular maintenance saves you from a greater damage that might cost more than just a little repair price.

Make Your Home Summer Ready

As the summer has knocked on our doors, this is the time for some maintenance. These are some easy steps, by following these you can have a thorough check up of your house and your house will be perfectly ready for summer.

    Look around the house and get it ready for a good first impression

Look around the house and make a list of the things that need to be done and get to work. Take a thorough look inside and the outside of the house. Look for any broken twigs fallen on the ground, clean those up. Any broken or scratched walls/ corners clean them up and paint the walls or just stain them. Clean up the debris on the ground. Clean the garden. Trim the bushes, take out the ones that couldn’t make it through the winters. Plant some new plants. Take out some pretty flower pots and put them aside the front door.

  1. Tidy up the front door

Paint your front door or stain it. Check the doorknob and change it if it looks shabby or worn. Install a new doorbell if it does not work. Put on some door decorations if you can.

  1. Upgrade the exterior

Look for any imperfections. Repair any holes around. Paint the whole outside of your home. And do not forget to paint the shutters.

  1. Clean the garage

Clean the garage. Remove anything that is not needed anymore. Make some space. Add hooks to hang the bicycles to free up space on the floor. Install shelves to put set up small things on it. Organize everything. Repaint or reseal the garage from the inside.

  1. Light up the outside

Now add lights strategically to add ambiance. Take out any burnt out bulbs and add some new for safety purposes and to give an aesthetically pleasing look to your house.

  1. Create a new outdoor living area

Connect the inside of your house with a patio. Set up a comfortable and relaxing outdoor living room. Or install a new outside kitchen, outdoor lounge or a sports area to spend some fun time with your family and have good time all summer long.

  1. Bring the colorful excitement inside

Give the house a new excitement by painting the walls. Bring in some colorful flowers from your garden and put them in pretty containers and put them around the house to add some cheerfulness in the house. Put up some art works on the walls. Make it pretty and bright around. Put up pretty pictures to brighten up the mood. Add colorful accessories on the coffee table, in the lounge and in your room.

  1. Get the cooling system serviced

Summers are no fun when the cooling system is not working. You surely don’t want to spend the early summer days stressing over the air conditioning system not working and not getting the appointment to get it serviced get the Sydney air conditioning services. Install a new if it is needed.

  1. Organize Your cabinets

Empty the kitchen cabinets and take out what you don’t use or don’t need and organize them again. Decluttering gives a sense of well-being and order. Go through your closet, take out what you don’t need any more and donate them. Organize the drawers. Store the winter clothes out the summer stuff and organize them in the cleaned out cabinets.

  1. Lighten up the insides

Add some new curtains for the windows. Install new lights to add ambiance. Lighten your bedroom. Add LED lights or make yourself some cute little lamps by adding fairy lights in a jar to add excitement in the atmosphere.

Set up your indoor living room. Organize some books and add up some decorations. In the day let the sun shine in. Open the windows and enjoy the sunlight that rushes in and the fresh air that will relax your nerves.

There you are all set for summer days and all ready to have some peaceful summer vacations in your new outdoor living space.
